Mijn landschappen in aquarel op groot formaat zijn ontstaan in mijn atelier in Delft en zijn geïnspireerd op kleine schetsen die ik maak in de Alpes Maritimes.
Ik begin mijn aquarellen altijd met potlood, pen, penseel, water en Oost-Indische inkt en voltooi ze met aquarelverf.
Halverwege de jaren tachtig begon ik m'n werk om te draaien om zo aarde en kosmos tot een geheel te maken (dat was de gedachte).
Vanaf 2017 kwam er meer en meer kleur in het werk. Ik werkte tot dan voornamelijk in zwartwit (olieverf, acryl, potlood, conté en
Oost-Indische inkt).

Je commence toujours mes aquarelles avec un crayon, une plume, un pinceau, de l'eau et de l'encre de Chine, et je les complète avec de la peinture aquarelle.
Au milieu des années 80, j'ai commencé à réorienter mon travail pour fusionner la terre et le cosmos en une seule et même chose (c'était l'idée).
À partir de 2017, la couleur est progressivement entrée dans mon travail. Jusqu'alors, je travaillais principalement en noir et blanc (peinture à l'huile, acrylique, crayon, conté et encre de Chine).
My large-format watercolour landscapes are created in the studio inspired by small sketches I make in the Alpes Maritimes.
I begin each watercolour with a preliminary drawing using pencil, pen, brush, water and Indian ink and then complete the piece with transparent watercolours.
In the mid-1980s, I began exploring the concept of merging earth and cosmos within my work.
Since 2017, my work has seen an increasing use of colour. Prior to that, I primarily worked in black and white, utilizing oil paint, acrylic, pencil, conté and Indian ink.
